As a Quaker community, San Jose Friends Meeting decides which committees are necessary to carry out its business and concerns. In keeping with our testimony of equality and in practice of living our faith, on August 4th, 2013 the accessibility concern was first discussed in Property Committee in response to SJ Friends Monthly Meeting. San Jose Monthly Meeting decided in unity to address the concern regarding the lack of accessibility of our Meeting House and hence the Wheelchair Accessibility project was formed and is currently supported by a dedicated committee.
Over the last 10+ years several friends have helped usher a path forward to ensure that our facilities are accessible to all future generations.
Please read about the project in more detail below and if you are interested in donating to the project, please Donate here. Please specify if you are contributing to the general fund or to the wheelchair accessibility fund.
